A global identity verification platform with an 80-slide sales deck that covered every vertical at once, leaving reps skipping slides mid-pitch. A modular restructure and reusable customer story template fixed it. Within weeks, the marketing team added a new case study independently, with no design support needed.

Company Introduction

OCR Labs is a global identity verification platform offering AI-driven document authentication and biometric verification, used by clients across financial services, insurance, telecom, gaming, and marketplace sectors.

The Request

OCR Labs needed a sales resource deck their team could actually present from, one that explained a fairly technical product to non-technical buyers, flexed across multiple industries, and built trust through compliance credentials and customer proof. The original file was a single 80-slide deck covering every vertical, certification, and case study in one long sequence, regardless of who the audience was. The existing icon set was generic and didn't reflect OCR Labs' brand personality, so a more distinctive visual language was also part of the brief.

The Process

My first pass focused on visual cleanup, fixing icon inconsistencies, standardizing the grid, and tightening the color system. It looked better, but didn't solve the real issue: a rep pitching an insurance client still had to manually skip past telecom and gaming slides mid-presentation.

So I restructured the deck into modular sections instead: Challenge, Industry Pains, Technologies, Product Workflow, Use Cases, Customer Stories, and Compliance. Each section opens with a dark full-bleed "tab" slide, letting reps jump straight to what's relevant. I built three core templates, dark section breaks, light icon-grid pain-point slides, and a customer story format (intro slide plus stat-circle results slide), designed so OCR Labs' team could slot in new case studies themselves without needing a designer each time.

The Outcome

The new structure cut average pitch-prep time for reps by an estimated 40%, since they no longer needed to build custom slide sets from scratch or skip irrelevant content mid-presentation.

The reusable customer story template proved its value within weeks: OCR Labs' marketing team added a new case study to the deck independently, with no design support needed, something that would previously have required a full design request. The custom illustration set also gave OCR Labs a distinct visual identity that set the deck apart from typical SaaS sales decks relying on stock icon libraries.

More broadly, the modular system gave OCR Labs a foundation that scales with the business: as new verticals or certifications are added, the deck grows with them instead of needing a periodic full redesign.

If your sales deck tries to cover everything and ends up working for no one, the fix usually isn't a visual refresh, it's rethinking what the deck needs to do.
