How Much Does a B2B Brand Identity Cost in 2026?
DESIGN

A B2B brand identity usually costs between $1,000 and $25,000. Most startups and small tech teams pay $1,000 to $5,000 when they hire a freelance designer. Agencies often start at $10,000 and can go well past $50,000.
The final price depends on three things: what you get, who makes it, and how much strategy is part of the work.
I have designed brand identities for SaaS, AI, and fintech companies for over 10 years. In this guide, I'll show you what each price range gets you, what pushes the cost up, and how to pick the right option for your stage.
Key takeaways
A logo alone costs $100 to $2,000. A full brand identity costs more because it includes colors, fonts, guidelines, and templates.
Most startups spend $1,000 to $5,000 with an experienced freelancer.
Agencies charge $25,000 or more when brand strategy is included.
Always ask for a written list of deliverables before you hire anyone.
What is a brand identity?
A brand identity is the set of visual tools that makes your company easy to recognize. A logo is only one part of it. A full brand identity usually includes:
A logo system, with a full version, an icon, and one-color versions
A color palette with clear rules for each color
Fonts and a type scale for headings and body text
A brand guide that shows your team how to use all of it
Templates, like a slide deck, a one-pager, and social media posts
For a B2B company, this matters more than most founders expect. Your buyers compare you with competitors on your website, in sales decks, and on LinkedIn. When your brand looks different in each place, it creates doubt. A clear identity makes a small team look established and trusted.
How much does a brand identity cost? The quick answer
Here are the typical price ranges in 2026, based on public pricing guides and what I see in the market every week:

Logo only: $100 to $2,000
Starter brand identity (logo, colors, fonts, short guide): $500 to $5,000
Full identity system (detailed guide, templates, brand assets): $5,000 to $25,000
Strategy-led agency brand (research, positioning, messaging): $25,000 to $100,000 or more
These ranges are wide on purpose. Two projects with the same name can include very different work. The next sections explain what you get at each level.
Under $500: templates, AI tools, and marketplaces
At this price, you are usually buying from a logo maker, an AI tool, or a low-cost marketplace gig. You can get a logo in a few hours or days.
The trade-off is real. You often get a design that other companies are also using. You may not get source files, and you almost never get rules for how to use the logo.
This can be fine for a side project or a quick test. For a B2B company that sells to other businesses, it rarely holds up once you start pitching larger clients or investors.
$1,000 to $5,000: an experienced freelance designer
This is where most startups and small tech teams land. An experienced freelancer will give you a custom logo system, a color palette, a type system, and a brand guide. Many also include templates like a slide deck or social media kit.
The biggest benefit is direct contact. You talk to the person who is doing the design. Feedback is fast, nothing gets lost between people, and you pay for design time instead of office overhead.
$5,000 to $25,000: senior specialists and small studios
At this level, you can expect more concepts, more revision rounds, and a much deeper set of assets. That might mean a full slide master, a sales one-pager system, social templates, icon sets, and detailed guidelines for print and digital.
This range is a good fit for funded companies that already have a sales team and need every piece of marketing to look the same.
$25,000 and up: full-service branding agencies
Large agencies add brand strategy to the visual work. That can include workshops, customer interviews, competitor research, messaging, naming, and launch plans. A full team of strategists, writers, and designers works on your brand at the same time.
This is valuable for large companies, big rebrands, or teams with many people who need to approve each step. For most early-stage startups, it is more than they need right now.
What makes a brand identity cost more?
When you compare quotes, look at what is inside each one. These are the things that change the price the most:
Logo concepts. Three directions take more time to explore than one.
Revision rounds. Each round adds design time.
The size of the brand guide. A two-page guide and a 40-page guide are very different jobs.
Templates. Slide decks, one-pagers, brochures, and social kits each add hours of work.
Strategy work. Research, interviews, and messaging can double the cost of a project.
Timeline. Rush projects often cost extra.
Who does the work. Agencies charge for account managers, project managers, and office costs.
Freelancer or agency: which one is right for you?
A freelancer is usually the best fit when you are a startup or a small team that needs a strong brand fast. You work directly with the designer. There are no account managers in the middle, and the price is lower because there is less overhead.
An agency makes sense when you need many specialists working at once, or when a large rebrand has to pass through many teams for approval.

How much should a startup spend on branding?
A simple rule: match your brand budget to your next big moment. Here is what I usually recommend:
Pre-launch or pre-seed: a starter identity for about $1,000 to $3,000
Seed to Series A: a full system with deck and sales templates for about $2,000 to $10,000
Series B and up: a full rebrand with strategy, often $15,000 or more
Plan your brand before investors, buyers, or press see your company. A rebrand after a big launch costs more time and money than getting it right the first time.
Hidden costs to watch for
A low quote can turn into a high bill. Before you sign, check for these:
Source files that cost extra or are not included at all
Font licenses, since some business fonts cost $50 to $500 or more
Extra revision fees past the included number of rounds
Templates that are billed as separate projects
A website that is not part of the brand package
Ask for a full list of deliverables in writing before any work starts.
7 questions to ask before you hire a brand designer
How many logo concepts will I see?
How many revision rounds are included?
Will I get all source files, like SVG, PNG, and PDF?
Is a brand guide included, and how detailed is it?
Which templates come with the package?
Who will do the actual design work?
How long will the project take from start to finish?
A good designer will answer all seven clearly. If the answers are vague, the final bill often is too.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a brand identity take?
Most freelance projects take 1 to 4 weeks. A starter identity can be ready in about a week. Agency projects with research and strategy often take 2 to 4 months.
Is a logo the same as a brand identity?
A logo is one part of a brand identity. The full identity also includes your colors, fonts, guidelines, and templates. Together, they make every touchpoint look like the same company.
Do I need brand strategy before design?
You need clear answers about your customers, your competitors, and what makes you different. A good designer will ask these questions in a short discovery step. A large strategy project is usually only worth it for bigger companies.
Can I rebrand later?
Yes. Many companies refresh their brand after a funding round or a product change. Starting with a solid system makes a later refresh faster and cheaper.
Can I pay in installments?
Many freelancers split payment into two parts, one at the start and one at the end. Ask about payment terms before you sign.
